Asha Omega

Asha Omega is a neo-soul emcee, facilitator and curator born in Harvey, Illinois and raised in Chicago. Her music is self-proclaimed “medicine to myself and the masses,” inspired by life experiences that has shaped her to who she is today. Asha’s first love in music was neo-soul and R&B, and was inspired by artists such as Erykah Bad and Jill Scott. Her debut project ALKHEMY is described as an affirmation and declaration of who she is as an artist, a black woman, and a human.

When Magic Happens

For Black Music Month 2023, When Magic Happens explored the history, sound and legacy of Black music. Hosts Taylor, Jennifer and Cheryle shared the soundtracks of their lives and reminisced over songs that sparked memories of joy, strength and intimacy. They were joined by one of the founding members of The Miracles and The First Lady of Motown Claudette Robinson, legendary percussionist and singer Sheila E. and Chicago legend-in-the-making Asha Omega.
